17 days and counting
The nursery is done, the tree is up and the presents are wrapped. It's 17 days until my due date and I'm feeling anxious for this sweet little boy to make his appearance. In anticipation and hope for an early arrival, we got everything ready as early as we could. As much as I'm looking forward to meeting him, I'm also motivated to have him to put the discomfort of walking, sitting and sleeping to an end. Bob and I are visiting my OB weekly at this point and she's reporting progress but not fast enough for me. In the meantime, I'm hanging out on the couch, reading and watching plenty of tv and coming close to tears everytime I see the "Having a Baby Changes Everything" ads. While my little boy may be the most obvious holiday gift this year, there's been another gift this year for which I'm grateful. My wonderful husband has watched plenty of birth videos, rubbed my legs at night and followed my directions for the household chores I can't do on my own anymore. He has been loving and supportive in his own quiet ways that show how excited he is for our little family to grow. I am blessed to have him.

Baby News!
To those of you who want to see a sneak peek at our little one-- take a look at our Tuesday ultrasound. My sister Sarah is shooting so you hear her excitement mostly but the ultrasound tech also gives the play by play as she looks around at our little baby.

Cousin James visits Arizona
We were pleased to hear my cousin James would be visiting Arizona to take the first two parts of his Athletic training exam that when completed, will make him a Certified Athletic trainer. Currently James has a very cool job working down in Florida with the Red Sox farm league players. He was kind enough to bring us some much-appreciated Sox shirts, even one for the bambino.
As promised, two silly cheerleaders (Sarah and I) greeted James at the airport on Saturday morning. We spent the day hanging out and in the evening we went out to dinner and then to the movies to see "The Village." We gave a unanimous thumbs up to M. Night Shyamalan's latest flick. James took his test on Sunday which left him feeling confident and anxious to see his results. To celebrate, we drove up to Scottsdale to see the sights and grab some authentic Mexican food at one of Bob's favorites joints. It was great to catch up with James and we look forward to seeing him again at Jen and Conor's wedding in October, even if he IS intoxicated for most of the weekend.

Baby on board
We've broken the golden rule of web content and ignored our site for many months. If you're reading this, than our flightiness hasn't caused too much damage. The most exciting development for Bob and me over the last few months happened at the end of April when we found out that we are going to be parents later this year. Our doctor says the big day is estimated to be December 31st which has caused many a comment from friends and family about potentially speeding the process up to get the tax deduction. It has also struck a chord of fear in my heart that I'll be that haggard woman on tv who birthed the first baby of 2005. Yikes!
